Church community and fellowship

About Us

The International Anglican Revival Ministries is a vibrant Christian community dedicated to spiritual growth, compassion, and service. We are an Anglican-Pentecostal/Protestant church committed to preaching the Gospel, nurturing families, and empowering believers for a purpose-driven life.

We serve a diverse congregation in Edmonton, including Canadians and African communities, offering worship services in English and Kinyarwanda.

Our ministry extends beyond Canada, partnering with churches in Africa and supporting vulnerable refugees, widows, orphans, and displaced families in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and other regions.

Our Core Values

These fundamental values guide everything we do as a church community, shaping our mission, ministry, and relationships.

These values are not just words on a page—they are the living principles that guide our daily interactions, ministry decisions, and community engagement. We strive to embody these values in everything we do, from our worship services to our outreach programs.

Faith

We trust in God's Word and His promises, living by faith and not by sight. Our faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of our church.

Love

We demonstrate Christ's unconditional love to everyone, showing compassion, kindness, and acceptance to all people regardless of their background.

Service

We serve God and others with humility and dedication, following Christ's example of servant leadership in our community and beyond.

Community

We build authentic relationships and fellowship, creating a welcoming family where everyone belongs and can grow together in faith.

Integrity

We live with honesty, transparency, and moral principles, reflecting Christ's character in all our actions and decisions.

Our Leadership

Apostle Rev. Jean Sengiyumva, Senior Pastor

Apostle Rev. Sengiyumva is a dedicated servant of God with a passion for multi-lingual ministry. Although English is not his first language, he faithfully ministers in English and Kinyarwanda to reach and uplift diverse communities. His calling is rooted in Jeremiah 20:9, carrying God's Word like fire in his bones.

Our Work in Africa

Our church maintains active partnerships with congregations and refugee communities in Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. Through these collaborations we offer:

  • Support for vulnerable families
  • Education assistance for refugee children
  • Distribution of Bibles and Christian resources
  • Community development programs

  • Strengthening local churches

Statement of Faith

We believe in the fundamental truths of the Christian faith as revealed in the Holy Scriptures.

Our statement of faith is based on the historic Christian creeds and the authority of Scripture. We are committed to sound biblical teaching and the proclamation of the Gospel.

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the Bible as the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our History

The International Anglican Revival Ministries was established to serve the growing international and multicultural community in Edmonton, particularly those from African backgrounds seeking a place of worship that honors both Anglican tradition and Pentecostal expression.

Our church community reflects the diversity of God's kingdom, bringing together people from various backgrounds, languages, and cultures to worship and serve together in unity.

Founded with a vision to bridge cultures and languages, our church began as a small gathering of believers committed to sharing the Gospel in both English and Kinyarwanda.

Over the years, we have grown into a vibrant community that serves not only the local Edmonton area but also extends our ministry to support vulnerable communities in Africa.

Today, we continue to be a beacon of hope, providing spiritual guidance, community support, and practical assistance to those in need, both locally and globally.
